We ran into a large herd of these guys while on our way to some geysers.  There were no people around but us so we decided to let them have the right-of-way and we backtracked.  The park was full of warning signs about Buffalo goring visitors.  Note the Fire Damage on the Hillside; most trees are about 4-6 feet tall and have grown in the 12 years since the fires.
